Our goals are anchored with money. We want to do this and do that. We cannot do it unless we have cash. This 2010, you have to be serious and get yourself to save to achieve your goals.
Use your wallet. You will become aware of your spendings by the sliding of your dollar bills and getting your coins in your wallet. The key to resolve your need to save money is awareness. It becomes easier to think how we choose it if we stuff the bills in the pocket or putting it in the purse.
Always have a list. Listing down the things when you go shopping or grocery is effective, and is not a difficult thing to do. When we’re not using a list, we spend more money. If you want to buy something for the week, take time to write them down and stick to that list.
Balance your checkbook. Increase your awareness of money if you want to save more of it. Know how much you receive every month, what you have spent on it, what are your goals and where do you stand in terms of reaching it. Each month, take time to balance your checkbook. If you don’t, you will just be continuing to spend money, you avoid thinking about it and you will be feeling dreadful when reality sets in.
Trim down your credit cards. A great help for financial emergency situations are credit cards. But you don’t need to have a lot of it. For those unexpected expenses, consider having emergency funds to handle it. This way, you can be in your own lending agency. By simply waiting until you have saved enough to buy those things you want to purchase instead of using the credit card, you can free yourself from debts.
Refinance into a fixed-rate mortgage. Those interest rates that are lower will eventually go higher and higher. When that happens, the home financing place not to be is in an adjustable-rate mortgage that is subject to a rate reset. While they are on the record lows, refinance out of an adjustable rate mortgage and lock in a fixed rate.
Find cheap loans. Entering college is costly and expensive. Cheap loans can assist you in your financial needs. You do not need expensive ones. If you are already on it, call them and see if they can modify to reduce the rates you are paying monthly.
I know saving money is not easy. You just need to have the discipline to sustain because in the long run, you will be the one who’s going to benefit all of these.
