Manchester United football club welcomed their new sponsors AON last night, as they swap one insurance broker for another. their sponsAIG (American Insurance Group) were forced to pull out of or package with United (which reportedly cost them £14m per year) after the US Treasury bailed out the American firm earlier this year.
AIG have suffered an appalling couple of months, with their recent attempted sale of AIA (their Asian offshoot) to Prudential falling through. (more…)

Their previous sponsors, the disgraced AIG (American Insurance Group) pulled out of their £14m per year sponsorship package with one of the biggest football clubs in the World, after the American company were bailed out earlier this year by the US Treasury.
